OUR STORY

Why plant another church in Santa Maria? Don't we have plenty already?

It's true. There are plenty of churches in our city already, and we pray for God to bless them!

Even if you fill them all (which is our prayer), there would still be an incredible amount of people who would be missing.

Church leaders are called to equip the people for ministry so that we can care for one another (in our churches) AND reach out to those who have not yet believed.

One of the most effective ways to reach new people for Christ is to plant a new church. New churches only thrive if they reach their neighbors who are unchurched or dechurched.

Our church was born with this in mind but we are not the first or only Presbyterian church here in Santa Maria.

The first one was born in 1876, moved from Guadalupe to Santa Maria in the turn of the 20th century, and eventually sold its property to the Salvation Army in 2012.

Our story is simple: we want to build on the rich heritage of those who have gone before us AND we want to be known as a community of faith, hope, and love...one that knows Jesus and takes risks in our discipleship.

MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP

THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT

THROUGH THE BOND OF PEACE.

THERE IS ONE BODY AND ONE SPIRIT...

ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM;

ONE GOD and FATHER of all,

who is over all and through all and in all.
